Ten-year-old Thea Foulkes with some of the donated art on show at the Christian Aid art and Scottish Books sale.
A sale of art and Scottish books in aid of Christian Aid begins in Edinburgh’s St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church this Thursday.
The sale, which runs until Saturday, includes original art and high quality prints from renowned artists including John Bellany, D Y Cameron, Richard Demarco, George Houston, Victoria Crowe and Peter Howson.
This is the second year for the autumn sale, in the church which hosts the famous book sale during Christian Aid Week each May.
The Scottish books section is a chance for the organisers to sell more of the books donated to this year’s sale, including first editions of works autographed for Christian Aid in 2017 by living Scots writers.
As the event is also a celebration of the 250th anniversary of Edinburgh’s new town, there will also be a special selection of books about Georgian architecture and the New Town.
The sale is open from Thursday to Saturday October 26-28, 10am-3pm daily. On Saturday morning there is also a coffee morning with jewellery and gift stalls, from 10am-12 noon.
