Mean Bean Challenge

Wednesday February 28 2018

The Christian charity Tearfund is again challenging supporters to be sponsored to live on just rice, beans and oats for five days.

Participants in the Mean Bean Challenge, from March 19-23, will eat porridge (made with water) for breakfast and plain rice and beans (with no seasoning except salt) for the other two meals of the day. They will also drink only water.

The challenge is to help gain some understanding of what life is like for the billion people across the world who experience hunger every day, as well as raising money for Tearfund’s work against poverty.

For young people, there is a two-day challenge.
