Public transport

The offices are within a 20 minute walk, or 10 minute taxi ride during rush hour, of Edinburgh's two main train stations at Waverley and Haymarket, as well as its bus station at St Andrew's Square. Buses serving the city include Megabus, Scottish Citylink and Stagecoach, which operates the Fife park and ride facility from Inverkeithing. Edinburgh Airport is approximately 30 minutes away by direct bus link or car. A park and ride facility also exists at nearby Ingliston.

City bus services include Lothian Buses and First Bus. You can find out about other travel options at www.traveline.org.uk

There are facilities along George Street and South Castle Street, but parking can be notoriously difficult at times and it is not recommended that visitors use the parking bays outside the offices if they are likely to be staying for a long time. Parking costs £3 per hour and the maximum stay is three hours. Charges apply from 8.30am to 6.30pm. Traffic wardens operate in the area at all times. There are a number of longer term parking facilities within a 20 minute walk of the offices at the St James' Centre, Morrison Street and Kings Stables Road.

Information for disabled visitors

The offices in George Street have wheelchair-friendly access, which is adjacent to the 'traditional' entrance. Once inside the building, a lift enables those with mobility problems to access all floors. A toilet for the disabled is available on the ground floor. There are also a number of parking bays for those with the official blue disabled parking permits immediately outside the office.
