Mission Forum

Quaker Meeting House Meeting Room, 2 Victoria Terrace
12.30pm for buffet lunch, with presentation ending by 2pm
The Mission Forum was established at the request of the Church of Scotland General Assembly as a way of “holding mission before the Church” in all its many different forms. It represents the six councils of the Church together with some of its committees.
After producing a report about mission last year it applied these general principles to a very specific area. The forum recognised early in its existence that Mission and Older People is a key topic for an ageing Church and society. How are we to enable mission with older people, for older people and to older people? The purpose of this resource is to enable Church of Scotland members, Kirk Sessions, Presbyteries running awareness raising evenings, local pastoral groups, Guilds or those working with CrossReach to explore the topic further in terms of mission. During the fringe event you will be introduced to this learning resource which comprises a series of videos, a complementary study guide and certain additional signposted resources. Advice will be offered about how such a resource could be used in your local setting.
