Moderator Takes Tattoo Salute

The Right Rev Lorna Hood, Moderator of the General Assembly of The Church of Scotland, took the salute at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Mrs Hood was guest of honour and in the spotlight as she acknowledged the 1000 performers who were watched by an audience of nearly 9000, as the show unfolded on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. The event was recorded and will soon be broadcast on BBC TV.

She said: “This will certainly be one of the highlights of my Moderatorial year. It was a great honour and I am delighted The Church of Scotland was recognised in this way.

“I very much enjoyed the traditional Scottish pipes and drums as well as the wide variety of international contributions.”
