Alloway Parish Church last month welcomed their two partner headteachers from Bandawe, Malawi, on a visit to Scotland.

During the visit, made possible by a Faithshare grant from the World Mission Council, Francis Juma and Ernest Chirwa took part in worship, visited local schools and attractions including the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Culzean Castle, and were invited to a meeting of Alloway Rotary Club.

The congregation organised a Scottish Night which included Ceilidh dancing and performances of Scots verse, songs, instrumental pieces and sword dancing.


Five new elders were ordained at Coupar Angus Abbey Church on March 10. Betty Crighton, Peter Godfrey, Rachel Ewins, David Chinn and Esther Jack are pictured with minister, the Rev Andrew Graham.


The 1st Scone Company of the Boys' Brigade chess team played in the National Chess Finals held in Newport Pagnall on Saturday March 23 and came third in the competition, beaten by the eventual winners, 1st Crowborough, from East Sussex. The team members are Ryan Mudie, Lewis O'Loughlin, Logan Mudie, Harris O'Loughlin and Matthew Stevenson.


Glasgow North Guilds Together have between them knitted 330 hats, neck warmers, balaclavas and mitts for the Sailors’ Society, one of the Guild’s partner projects. The garments were on display at the Guild meeting on March 21, before being collected by the Society this week.


The Guild of St David’s Memorial Park Parish Church, of Kirkintilloch in Glasgow, enjoying an evening of entertainment to celebrate their 120th Anniversary. The members are pictured with church minister the Rev Adam Dillon.
