Charity 'canter' takes place in August

                                                                                                                             Tuesday June 25 2019

THE annual ‘Kelpies Canter’ organised by Christian Aid Scotland will take place in Falkirk on August 31.

The 5k family-friendly fundraising sponsored walk around the famous horse head sculptures and through the Helix Park begins at 10.30am (registration 10am at the Great Lawn) and includes potted sports and an opportunity to ‘beat the goalie’.

The charity will also host an exhibition in Edinburgh in September centring around its pioneering ‘In Their Lifetime’ programme, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The initiative differs from traditional emergency aid and development work as it enables new ideas to be roadtested and explores creative possibilities to effect lasting change, bringing together philanthropists, technical experts and grassroots organisations in developing countries to find radical new solutions to entrenched problems in fighting poverty. The exhibition, which takes place from September 6 to 29 at the Scottish Storytelling Centre, will feature projects from Myanmar, Kenya, Nicaragua, Columbia, Nigeria and Burundi.
