The party - comprising the Rt Rev Lorna Hood, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Very Rev Dr Andrew McLellan, Convener of the World Mission Council, Asia Secretary of the World Mission Council Sandy Sneddon, and Kathy Galloway Head of Christian Aid Scotland, looked at possible ways of supporting communities of any faith in some of the world’s poorest areas.

Dr McLellan said: “It was good to have such a positive response from the Minister about the plight of our sisters and brothers in Pakistan.”

“Salaam Alaikum.

I was the Camp Manger after the 2005 Pakistani Earthquake overseeing 24,000 victims at a camp in Mundihar in the NWFP. I lived with the Sunni Moslems in peace and harmony and am delighted that some of the surviving victims have returned their lives around. I now receive e-mails from some. They share our views about the Blasphemy laws; and any insults to Christians. Same sex marriage and homosexuality must wait for another day they say. Who am I to argue. ”
