Retired BB Chief Honoured at Youth Awards

THE recently retired CEO of the Boys' Brigade was among those honoured at Youthlink Scotland National Youth Work awards.

Church elder Bill Stevenson, who also held the top BB job in Scotland received a lifetime achievement award at the glittering ceremony in Glasgow.

He was one of a small number of people to be honoured for their long-term commitment to youth work in Scotland. Annie Hosie MBE was also honoured for half a century of dedication to the Girls' Brigade.

A charity developed by a church in Glasgow also triumphed in the awards.

St Paul’s Youth Forum, a charity developed from youth work at St Paul’s Provanmill church in Glasgow scooped the ‘Environment and Conservation’ award.

The accolade is the latest in a string of awards for the project.

The recently-retired chief executive of Scripture Union Scotland, Andy Bathgate was also awarded ‘Inspirational Leader’ of the year.
