The winner in the 'Short Form Audio' category was a very personal reflection for Fathers’ Day presented by Anne Muir, and broadcast by Eagle Extra FM in Guildford.
The other winning programme, in the fiercely-contested ‘Christmas 2012’ category, was a spoof of TV’s The Thick of It re-imagined for Christmas, starring King Herod’s spin doctor. The sketch is available on YouTube and has also been broadcast on radio stations across Britain, including on Central FM in Stirlingshire.
The programmes were very different but the judges were fulsome in their praise for both. The Fathers’ Day piece was ‘moving’ and ‘involving’ – judges said they were moved to tears; the sketch was ‘very funny’ and ‘clever’ with an underlying serious message.
GRF Team members, Brian Muir and Gillian McKinnon, were at the award ceremony to accept the awards on behalf of GRF. Gillian is pictured with Bridget Cass, Director of Jerusalem Productions.
The Jerusalem Awards encourage, promote and reward original engaging Christian broadcasting.
