Bearsden Church Regenerates this Sunday

New Kilpatrick Church in Bearsden will be bigger on the inside this weekend as their service is themed around the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who.

The church's junior fellowship have built a TARDIS, and music and preaching will be based around the show, which has its special anniversary episode tomorrow night.

Writing on the church's website, minister, the Rev Roddy Hamilton, says: "So much of our faith is found in popular culture: that yearning for new life, for seeking and believing in the power of transformation. While this may be behind the popularity of the Doctor's story, we have the real version.

"We'll have some fun, but there is a very serious them of a church connecting to the world through popular culture as it has done for centuries... but even more than that, we find the themes in popular culture that people aspire to and dream of, and offer an invitation to where those same dreams of a new world are being made real in faith communities right where we are."
