A Place for Deep Thoughts

The Very Rev Dr Andrew McLellan, Convener of the Church of Scotland World Mission Council, led the dedication worship for the new Peace Garden at St Andrew’s Church, Jerusalem last week.

The Garden has been constructed by the church as ‘a place to stop and nurture deep thoughts about creation, unity and peace… for pilgrims and people of all faiths, beliefs and traditions’.

The garden includes a Peace Pole, one of over 200,000 throughout the world, with ‘May peace prevail on earth’ written on it in different languages. The majority of the funding for the Peace Garden came from a donation from the Leith St Thomas’ Junction Road Parish Church Tuesday Cafe Group.
