Appeal for Christmas Presents for Refugee Children

Tuesday December 6 2022

An interfaith charity in Glasgow is appealing for help to buy Christmas presents for the children of the refugees and asylum seekers it helps.

Interfaith Glasgow’s Weekend Club runs events to help people from refugee backgrounds build social connections, enjoy fun activities and a good meal, get to know Glasgow and Scotland better, practise their English informally, and develop an appreciation of religious and cultural diversity as a positive aspect of contemporary Scottish life.

Since it launched in 2015, about 500 people from more than 20 countries have taken part in the events, which are run by volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds.

The Christmas appeal is aiming to raise £1500 to treat 100 Weekend Club children to a Christmas present, including toys, books, art supplies and clothes.

£15 buys one present, and you can also buy a gift on behalf of a friend for Christmas.
