Free RME Days Offered to Schools

Tuesday August 22 2023

The team behind the Must Know Bible Stories resources are offering to visit schools to deliver free religious and moral education sessions.

The free ‘RME days’ for primary schools will include lessons for three classes, demonstrating the Must Know Bible Stories resources. There will also be an opportunity for a CPD (continuing professional development) session for staff.

The lessons which fit into the Scottish Government’s Curriculum for Excellence, can be delivered in classroom or outdoor settings.

The 10 Must Know Bible Stories was originally developed by Sue Thomson, a Schools Worker based at Aberdeen: St Columba’s Bridge of Don, through a three-year partnership with local schools. Now hosted by the Scottish Bible Society, they have expanded beyond the original 10 stories and include free resources to help primary school and nursery classes explore the stories while also offering opportunities to teach literacy, numeracy, STEM and well-being.
