Short Courses for Autumn

Tuesday August 29 2023

Trinity College at the University of Glasgow is offering five short courses this autumn in church worship, mission and spirituality.

These 8-10 week evening courses offer learning and equipping for local church leaders and members interested in growing faith and practical ministry.

Designing and Leading Christian Worship, on Monday evenings plus one Saturday, is for people in the church who are beginning to lead acts of worship, who wish to grow their understanding and practice.

Creative Writing and Spiritual Reflection, also on Mondays, will enable and support the use of creative writing as a means of theological reflection upon personal, spiritual and contemporary experience.

Preaching in Church Contexts, on Wednesdays, will help preachers to develop through reflection on why and how we preach, exploring delivery, style and method.

Listening in Mission, on Thursdays, provides practical tools for churches and mission teams seeking to engage more actively in their community and discern the kind of future mission they may have there.

Contemporary Visual Art and Christian Worship, also on Thursdays, explores and develops the role of contemporary visual art in Christian worship.

The courses are delivered online except for Preaching in Church Contexts, which is in-person, and the Saturday workshop of the Leading Christian Worship course.
