Events Across Scotland for Interfaith Week

Tuesday October 24 2023

Talks, exhibitions and shared events will take place throughout the country during Scottish Interfaith Week next month.

Established by Interfaith Scotland in 2004, Scottish Interfaith Week provides an opportunity for interfaith groups, faith communities, schools, organisations and local communities across the country to celebrate Scotland’s religious diversity, beginning on November 12.

Among the main events this year is ‘Celebrating Community’ on November 13, a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Aberdeen Interfaith Group.

In the capital on the same day, Edinburgh Interfaith Association, in partnership with The Oxford Foundation and St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, is hosting ‘United for Peace: Edinburgh’s Communities United Against Hate’. This special service at the Cathedral will bring together different faith and civic society members and leaders in a multi-faith service of prayer, silent reflection and music.

Later in the month, in Glasgow, a ‘Meet Your Neighbour’ walk on November 25 will visit  Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and Sikh places of worship. At each place of worship a story will be told, and the walk will finish with a Langar (vegetarian meal) at the Gurdwara.

There are many more events throughout Scotland and online. For the full list visit https://scottishinterfaithweek.org/events/list/
