Modern Twist for Easter Play

Monday February 17 2014

Edinburgh's Easter Play returns this year, with a very modern twist.

Written by award-winning playwright Rob Drummond, the Edinburgh Passion is set in the present day and casts Jesus as a radical politician, who falls victim to political maneouvring on the eve of a referendum.

It is a new departure for the Edinburgh Easter Play, which ran as a more traditional Passion Play between 2005 and 2010, then returned last year as a series of monologues.

The play will be performed on Easter Saturday (April 19) in Princes Street Gardens, and there is still time to be involved. Contact the organisers through the Passion Play website.
