One of the oldest Guilds in the Church of Scotland, the Guild of Kinross Parish Church celebrated its 135-year anniversary in December. Members gathered for afternoon tea and welcomed the Guild’s National Convener, Rae Lind, and her husband George, along with the minister of Kinross, the Rev Alan Reid.

Rae gave a short talk on the history of the Guild in Perth and Kinross and said that membership of the Guild nationally was rising again. It stands at around 15,000 – one of the largest voluntary organisations in Scotland. This has been reflected in Kinross which has welcomed ten new members who have never been to Guild before, including two men.

Marigold Coates and Helen Milne have been presented with long service certificates for outstanding service to the Strichen & Tyrie Guild, for 21 and 23 years respectively.
