The Rev Matthew Ross (pictured), who starts his new post on April 1, is currently the minister at Cockpen and Carrington Parish Church in Midlothian.
His long-standing interest in ecumenism includes six years in Brussels as Executive Secretary of the Church and Society Commission of the Conference of European Churches. He currently serves on both the Church of Scotland's Ecumenical Relations Committee and its Church and Society Council.
He was first ordained in 1998 and has been at Cockpen and Carrington since 2009.
Formed in 1990, ACTS brings together nine denominations in Scotland to encourage 'greater oneness between churches'.
