New Youth Ministry Launches Next Month

Tuesday February 20 2024

A new Scottish youth ministry is to be launched at a conference in Perth next month.

Awakening Youth Ministries has grown out of the Awakening Youth Conferences, held since 2018 at Martin's Memorial Church in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. This year’s conference is the first to be held on the mainland.

The new initiative, which will have a local, regional and national focus, is said to be about ‘awakening young people to who they are and Whose they are’.

The Awakening Youth Conference takes place over the weekend of March 15-16 at Trinity Church in Perth, with sessions led by Matthew MacNeil, the Rev Kenny Borthwick and Donna MacNeil. For groups struggling for accommodation, Trinity Church of the Nazarene has offered to host people in its church halls.

The weekend includes a free lunch for pastors and youth leaders, on the Saturday from 1-2.30pm, where the plans for Awakening Youth Ministries will be shared. To help with catering, anyone wishing to attend is asked to email awakeningyouthc@gmail.com
