Prayer Breakfast Speaker Announced

Monday March 11 2024

Amy Orr-Ewing

Author and theologian Amy Orr-Ewing will be the keynote speaker at this year’s National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland, in Edinburgh on June 12.

The Prayer Breakfast has become a significant date in Scotland’s Christian calendar. Following last year’s in person event, which was sold out and had the highest numbers of attendees ever, the breakfast will again be held at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh. It will also be livestreamed.

As in previous years, MSPs along with other national leaders from the public sector, business, sport and academia will be joined by church leaders and members.

Dr Amy Orr-Ewing is the author of multiple books, and has spoken at events around the world, including addressing Parliamentarians in the Speakers Rooms and Chapel at the UK Parliament and staffers on Capitol Hill, and at the West Wing of The White House. She serves as Honorary Lecturer in Divinity at the University of Aberdeen.

This year’s event will also incorporate the inaugural British-Irish Prayer Breakfast. This builds on growing relationships between the individual national prayer breakfasts and will see key representatives from England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Eire join with national leaders from Scotland.
