North East Runners Raise £3300 for CrossReach

A team from the Presbytery of the North East and the Northern Isles took part in Run Balmoral in aid of CrossReach services in their areas.

The group, including the Rev Keith Blackwood (minister of Mannofield, Aberdeen), the Rev Amy Bender (Keith North, Newmill, Boharm and Rothiemay) and the Rev Sean Swindells (Cruden), raised over £3300 between them.

The services that will benefit are Counselling Services in Buckie, the Bungalow in Stonehaven, Bellfield Care Home in Banchory, Balmedie House in Balmedie, the Walter and Joan Gray Care Home in Scalloway, Shetland, and Clashfarquhar Care Home in Stonehaven.

Run Balmoral is one of north east Scotland’s biggest participation sporting and community events, with thousands of runners taking part in a variety of races including 5K and 10K.

CrossReach is the social care provider of the Church of Scotland, and the largest non-statutory care provider in Scotland, running services for children and families, people with learning disabilities, people living with addiction and mental health problems, and older people.
