King Charles Becomes BB Patron

Friday May 17 2024

The Boys’ Brigade has announced that HM King Charles III has become its new Patron. The announcement comes one year on from the Coronation, following a major review of Royal patronages by Buckingham Palace.

The Boys’ Brigade, a Christian youth organisation founded in Glasgow in 1883, provides opportunities for children and young people age four to 18 years old to learn, grow and discover. The organisation works with 20,000 children and young people in over 750 Churches and communities across the country.

Jonathan Eales, Chief Executive of the Boys’ Brigade, said: “Having already been a great supporter of our work and more widely of uniformed youth organisations, we are incredibly proud and honoured that the King is our new Patron.

“The announcement confirms His Majesty as the fifth reigning monarch to become our Patron, following Queen Elizabeth II, King George VI, King Edward VIII and King George V.

“Royal patronage provides publicity and recognition for what we do in communities across the country and the hard work and dedication of our volunteer leaders.”
