CrossReach Baton Relay Launches

Thursday May 15 2014

As the Commonwealth Games baton nears the end of its journey, the Church of Scotland's Social Care Arm is launching a baton relay of its own.

The CrossReach baton will be launched at this Sunday's Heart and Soul event in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens. Carved from a single piece of oak, it will travel throughout Scotland to draw attention to the organisation's work and services across the country.

The relay will arrive at the Kirkhaven Project in Glasgow on Monday July 21, before being put on display at the Commonwealth Games exhibition and information hub in Glasgow St George's Tron Church during the games (July 23 - August 3).

The launch will take place at the Heart and Soul main stage at approximately 3.40pm.

Details of the route are here.

“Wonderful! I hope this baton relay will be successful in raising awareness of just how much Crossreach does throughout Scotland. It is a far-reaching organisation but I feel, sadly, that it's work is not as widely known or appreciated as it ought to be. May God Bless this venture.”
