BB Members Centre Stage

Tuesday September 9 2014

Local Boys’ Brigade members played an active role in The Boys’ Brigade annual conference and dinner on Saturday.

The band of the 25th Stirling (Dunblane) Company entertained over 210 adult volunteers for the one-day event at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow.

The audience were also entertained by magic tricks from Adam Black, a member of the same company.

Fraser Boyd, Bandmaster of the 25th Stirling Company, said: “The band has enjoyed yet another very active summer, having played at various local and national events. The opportunity to play such an important role at Conference Dinner is a real privilege for these young musicians and an experience they are unlikely to forget.”

The annual conference was an opportunity for the organisation’s adult volunteers to discuss new programme ideas and focus on the continued growth of The Boys’ Brigade.

Bill Stevenson, Director of The Boys’ Brigade Scotland, said: “We were delighted to welcome BB members, leaders and colleagues to Glasgow, the birthplace of the organisation, as we bring to a close a year of celebrations marking our 130th year.

“What made the event special was the input from our young members.”

“This BB company is a very special one, being the largest in the country and their band is superb, as was their wonderful home grown panto earlier this year. They have a superb group of officers too.”
