Jamie Stuart and Ron Ferguson On Aye Write! Programme

Wednesday March 18

Jamie Stuart, author of A Glasgow Bible, will discuss his life next month as part of the Aye Write! festival.

The nonagenarian author, actor, former athlete, airman and vacuum cleaner salesman published his updated autobiography, Still Running, last year.

He will be in conversation with Dr Donald Smith, former director of the Scottish Storytelling Centre, who was a key influence on the development of the Scots Gospel and Glasgow Bible.

The event takes place in the Mitchell Library on Sunday April 19 at 12 noon.

The tenth year of Aye Write!, Glasgow’s book festival, also features Dave Tomlinson, author of The Bad Christian’s Manifesto on Saturday April 18; and Life and Work columnist Ron Ferguson, writer of Black Diamonds and the Blue Brazil, will take part in a discussion on The State of the Scottish Football Nation on Monday April 20.

Among the other prominent people appearing at the festival are Irvine Welsh, Ian Rankin, Kirsty Wark, Mona Siddiqui and Kevin Bridges. Discussions range from politics to arts and history, and there are workshops in knitting and baking.

Tickets go on sale on March 21 from www.ayewrite.com, 0141 353 8000 or in person from the Mitchell Library, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and City Halls. Click here to read the full programme.
