Do's and Don't's of Bible Reading in Church

Monday March 30

The Mission and Discipleship Council of the Church of Scotland has released a series of videos and guides to help people who give Bible readings in church.

The guides, produced by Mission Development Worker Rob Rawson with help from some of the congregation at his home church in Callander, give advice on dealing with nerves (above) and avoiding some common pitfalls of scripture reading.

There are six videos and two downloadable Quick Guides available on the Resourcing Mission website.

“Very helpful resources and praise to the actors and actresses of Callander Kirk- they were excellent. I will certainly use these resources for readers in my own churches. Thank you”

“Excellent advice, especially about speaking slowly and taking short pauses. well done to the Callendar Kirk folk - I have seen all those responses to readers!
