Friday June 19
For the first time, the Church of Scotland is seeking suggestions for its next Moderator of the General Assembly from the entire church.
The Committee to Nominate the Moderator is inviting recommendations for the role through the Church website.
The Moderator, who must be a minister, elder or deacon, chairs the annual General Assembly and has an ambassadorial role for the rest of the year, representing the Church at national and international events, visiting Presbyteries and acting as a spokesperson.
Suggestions should be received at the church offices by July 31. The form is available here.
