Representatives of world faiths in Scotland gathered together on Sunday June 14 at Bothwell Parish Church for a united service against recent inhuman actions in the Middle East and globally being carried out in the name of religion; and against bigotry and sectarianism in Scotland.
Those participating represented the Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslin and Sikh faith communities.
As a result, it has been agreed that an annual gathering will now take place at Bothwell.
The photograph (taken by Norrie McPherson) shows the faith representatives with the Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Mr Mushtaq Ahmad OBE.

The congregation of Knightswood St Margaret's Church devoted morning worship on May 24 to a celebration of the eldership.

One elder, Donald McLean was interviewed about the change in the role since he had been ordained over 50 years ago. Christine Keith spoke about her experiences as an elder in the present day.

The Very Rev Bill Hewitt addressed the congregation on the importance of the eldership in today's church, before presenting elders with long service certificates, signed by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Rt Rev Dr Angus Morrison.

Pictured are: the Rev Sandy Fraser, Margaret Kelly, Robert McFarlane, Robert Belshaw, Christine Keith and Margaret McInnes and The Very Rev Bill Hewitt.

The congregation of Crosshouse Parish Church  in Ayrshire joined forces with the local community council, school and councillors to dedicate a bench in memory of those in the village who lost their lives during the First World War.

The bench was designed and manufactured by Ogilvie Street and Park Furniture from Kilmarnock and the dedication was carried out by the Rev Eddie Marshall, minister at Crosshouse.

The bench cleverly depicts images that many will associate with the War with images of barbed wire, soldiers and poppies.
