A showpiece event marking the culmination of the annual Guild Week, the ‘Sing’ this year came to the historic surroundings of Dunfermline Abbey, believed to have been a site of worship since the 6th century.
Guild National Convener Linda Young welcomed Guild members from all over Scotland to the historic surroundings of the Abbey Church.
Minister at Dunfermline Abbey, the Rev MaryAnn Rennie offered a potted history of the Abbey before offering her own warm welcome: “I hope you enjoy your time sharing your faith in our building.”
Chosen by the leadership team of the Guild, the afternoon of praise hymns included Be Thou My Vision, Lord You Have Gone to the Seashore, My peace I give unto you and Be bold, Be strong.
An offering was taken that will go towards furnishing a hostel at Embangweni Teacher Training College in Malawi for students.
The ‘Sing’ is popular with Guild members, who travelled from all over Scotland with 250 names still on a waiting list for tickets ahead of the Fife event.

“What a wonderful day of fellowship and praise in such a beautiful setting. The early start from Inverness was well worth it. Angy macular mid”
