HTC Announces Paisley Relocation

Tuesday August 1 2017

Highland Theological College (HTC) has announced a new base for its presence in the Central Belt.

The college has come to a new arrangement with the Wynd Centre in Paisley (pictured), where its distance learning students in the Central Belt will be able to meet.

Since 2015, HTC has had classrooms and a small library in the offices of the United Free Church of Scotland in Glasgow, but this arrangement was short-term and concluded over the summer.

A statement in the HTC newsletter says: “The Wynd Centre offers bigger accommodation, enabling us to increase from two classrooms to three. There is also space available to create two small offices and a library/study area. Based in a large church building with superb facilities, there are numerous congregation and community activities throughout the week.”

The statement requests prayer for the planning and renovation works to be completed by the start of the new academic session, and that the college will receive donations and grants to cover the costs of the move, estimated at nearly £50,000.

Highland Theological College, based in Dingwall, was launched in 1994 and is a partner in the University of the Highlands and Islands. It has been recognised by the Church of Scotland as a trainer of ministers since 2006.
